Water ionizer. A water ionizer (also known as an alkaline ionizer) is a home appliance which raises the pH of drinking water by using electrolysis to separate the incoming water stream into acidic and alkaline components.
What is pH?
The pH scale is alternatively sometimes called the pH-acid-base scale and sometimes just the acid-base scale.
In neutral solutions, i.e. those that are neither acidic nor basic, pH = 7.0.
Acidic solutions are those with pH less than 7, while basic solutions have pH greater than 7.
A solution is:

What is ORP ?
Oxidation-reduction potential, or ORP, is a measurement that indicates the degree to which a substance is capable of oxidizing or reducing another substance. ORP is measured in millivolts (mv) using an ORP meter.

A positive ORP reading indicates that a substance is an oxidizing agent. The higher the reading, the more oxidizing it is. As such, a substance with an ORP reading of +400 mv is 4 times more oxidizing than a substance with an ORP reading of +100 mv.

A negative ORP reading indicates that a substance is a reducing agent. The lower the reading, the more anti-oxidizing it is. As such, a substance with an ORP reading of -400 mv is 4 times more anti-oxidizing than a substance with an ORP reading of -100 mv.
What is the pH and ORP of alkaline water ?
High pH ionized water demonstrates a –ORP and so is a reducing agent or “antioxidant”. Alkaline IonizedWater for human consumption should be at an idealPH level of 8.5 to 9.5 and no greater than 10.0 with an ideal ORP value around -200mV to -300mV and no greater than -400 mV.
What's the difference between a water purifier and water ionizer?
